For the active, one can go for hikes in the mountain with great viewpoints over the village and the fjord, or go water skiing, kayaking on the fjord. Visit the musuem of Olav H. Hauge's. Visit the old restored village mill if you are interested in culture and history. If you have a curiosity for local food and locally produced goods, you can take a walk along the fruit and cider route to taste farm-produced apples or plum jam. Ulvik offers several bathing beaches and has a varied hiking opportunities for all ages and levels.

# 2 Bike rental
Excursion with guide in the high mountains through Austdalen in Osa. This is a spectacular experience with fantastic views and cascading waterfalls on the road. On days with good weather, you also get a view of the large glacier Hardangerjøkulen. Along the way, the guide will tell the fascinating story of Osa. On the way back down from the mountain you get to experience the beautiful waterfall Røykjafossen. After this, it is on to the historic, 100-year-old café to eat pancakes for lunch. Then the trip continues to tunnel walking in what was once to be a large hydropower plant in the industrial city of Osa.Here you get the story of the plans to make Osa a city for 6000 people.
# 3 Kayaking in the fjord
Majestic mountains and views of the orchards, can it get better than that? A kayak trip on the fjord in Ulvik is something will not easily forget. If you do not have much experience, we recommend that you bring a local guide. If you have previous experience, you can rent a kayak and take a trip alone.
# 4 Olav H. Hauge-senteret
At the Olav H. Hauge Center, you can experience poems and songs in many forms across language boundaries. The Hauge centre is beautifully situated by the fjord and with a view of the mountains from the old heradshuset in Ulvik in Hardanger. The centre contains stories related to poems by Olav H. Hauge and other world poets. The exhibition provides experiences for both children and adults.
# 5 Ciders and apples
The only fruit and side dish in Norway can be found in Ulvik in Hardanger. Three
farms – many different experiences from farm to farm. You can walk through orchards from the center and the fjord in Ulvik, and up to the farms. All farms have farm outlets. Farmers accept groups by appointment for guided tours and tastings. Enjoy!
# 6 Den Grøne Kafe
Den Grøne Kafe was established in 2009 and is a family run, relaxed cafe on the pier in Ulvik. You can enjoy a relaxing drink inside on our comfy sofas, or outside on the terrace with magnificent fjord views. We serve home-cooked food accompanied by draft beer, local juices, ciders, wine and spirits. Use our contactless ordering and payment app to order one of our delicious home-cooked meals. For dining in and to see our full menu range, please use our QR code at the café. Choose from refreshing drinks, coffee, tea, cakes and desserts. If you dine in then you can order a draft beer, cider, wine and spirits to go with your meal.
